Coaches,
It has come to our attention on that our first night of play a team violated the ICL rule of one player playing on more than one Coed team. When the coach was reminded of the rule their response was “I thought we were here to have fun!” “I didn’t know we were that strict on rules”. This attitude and this response is of course an unacceptable one. Having fun does not mean disregarding or ignoring our established rules. Our rules are in place to govern our sport as well as keep play consistent and fair. If rules were made to be ignored why should we have a limit of three outs per inning? We could have more “fun” if we changed it to six, right?! But we know the sport of softball has three outs per inning and that this is a rule.
Please do not pick & choose the rules you want to follow. As coaches it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the ICL’s rules of play and abide by all of them. If you are uncertain of a rule feel free to contact an ICL Board member for clarification.

Coaches,
The last ICL Softball meeting for the 2014 season is NEXT MONDAY, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. at PARAMOUNT CHRISTIAN CHURCH on 3816 COLLEGE STREET SE in LACEY. The meeting date, time, location and directions are also posted on our web site at www.ICLSPORTS.org.
You will need to bring your team fee of $400 per team (checks payable to ICL), completed registration form, and completed State Patrol Background Check forms for each of your coaches if you have players under the age of 18. All necessary forms can be printed from our web site.
PLEASE NOTE: We will play at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights starting at 6 p.m. All divisions will be determined using win/loss records from last year, not by a team’s preferred night of play. If your team is a Coed team and does not have a win/loss record from last year you will be placed in a middle division (D, E).
See you on next Monday!

Coaches,
New Horizons Fellowship is looking for players and might want to join another church team to complete a team. Please see their message below and feel free to contact Kim Tiedeman if you are interested.
“New Horizons Fellowship is looking for male and female softball players to complete our team. We are a fun Christian team and have been playing in the ICL for many years in all divisions. We’d love to add some players that enjoy friendship, fellowship and good times.
NOTE: If you are receiving this email and are not participating in softball this year this distribution list will be refreshed after our April 28th meeting.
Coaches,
Thank you to everyone who attended the first meeting for the ICL’s 2014 Softball season last Monday night. We had a very good representation of participating churches in our community. Below are a few of the important items of the meeting:
1. 2014 season is June 3 through August 15
2. Team Fee is $400 per team. RAC game fees are going up this year. The league will again subsidize the team fee for the 3rdconsecutive year in order to keep the fee the same.
3. ICL will play at the Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights at 6, 7:10, 8:20 and 9:30 start times.
4. All divisions in the Coed league and Men’s league will be determined by a team’s 2013 win/loss record and not by their preferred night of play.
5. Team fees and completed Registration Forms are due at the next meeting on Monday, April 28, 7:00 p.m., at Paramount Christian Church.
6. July 6th is the last date to add players to your team.
7. Roster & Adult Waiver forms, Youth Waiver forms, and State Patrol Background Check Form(s) are due before the team’s first game of the season, or they can be presented to a ICL Board member on their first night of play. Without these waivers teams cannot participate in the ICL.
Items of Note:
1. USSSA is eliminating the extra foul ball rule. The ICL will keep the rule for the 2014 season, but we must formally decide to eliminate it or keep it before the 2015 season.
2. USSSA is now paperless. Tournament Guides can be found on their website.
3. We have a new ICL website. Check it out at www.ICLsports.org.
4. Ben & Samantha Hill were elected as the ICL’s new Web Managers.
5. All forms necessary for softball (and other ICL sponsored sports) be found here on our website.
6. Completed Rosters & Adult waiver forms (with player signatures) and Youth Waiver forms (with parent signature) will be collected at the field before each team’s first game of the season. Failure to submit a completed Roster & Adult Waiver form will mean team cannot play until form is submitted. The same penalty applies to the player if they do not have a completed Adult or Youth Waiver forms.
7. Nights of Play
Coed A Tuesday Men’s A Friday
Coed B Thursday Men’s B Thursday
Coed C Friday Men’s C Friday
Coed D Tuesday Men’s D Thursday
Coed E Friday
Coed F Thursday
If you have any questions please feel free to reply to this email. See you at our next, and last, 2014 softball meeting on Monday, April 28th.
