Coaches,
The last ICL Softball meeting for the 2016 season is this MONDAY, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at PARAMOUNT CHRISTIAN CHURCH on 3816 COLLEGE STREET SE in LACEY. The meeting date, time, location and directions are also posted on our web site at www.ICLSPORTS.org.
You will need to bring your team fee of $450 per team (checks payable to ICL), completed registration form, signed waiver forms, your current roster, and completed State Patrol Background Check forms for each of your coaches if you have players under the age of 18. All necessary forms can be printed from our web site.
PLEASE NOTE: We will play at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights starting at 6 p.m. All divisions will be determined using win/loss records from last year, not by a team’s preferred night of play. If your team is a Coed team and does not have a win/loss record from last year you will be placed in a middle division (D, E).
See you Today!
Steve Carlsberg, ICL President
Coaches,
The results are in for our week 10 game play at https://www.iclsports.org/basketball/.
Also coaches, the rules are slightly changing for the playoffs!
• ICL League Modification! The bye team will conduct the officiating. There must be a time keeper, score keeper, and 2 court officials. We will not have foul shots during the game, however when a player is shooting the ball and is fouled, one (1) point will be given to the shooting team and the ball from the baseline, if the player is fouled and makes the shot, it will result in a three (3) points. The officiating scorekeeper must record all fouls during the game. If a team obtains 7 or more team fouls per half, one (1) point will be added to the fouled teams score as well as the ball from the sidelines. If a player obtains 6 personal fouls, then that player must leave the game. Please make sure your team knows the updated rules prior to this weekends playoff matchups.
Take Care,
Benjamin
Coaches,
The results are in for our week 9 game play at https://www.iclsports.org/basketball/.
Coaches since this is our last game coming up this week, I would like to propose a great ideal by Mark Staples on our foul rule. Since there is not real repercussion for fouls in the league, here is the proposal “Make every foul in the act of shooting worth one point. If they make the shot it’s a three point play. If they miss they get a point but get to take the ball out. Keep track of all least team fouls. After 5,6 or 7 team fouls per half every foul results in a point plus the ball. No free throw shooting which would slow down the game too much but it penalizes teams for overly aggressive play.”
Hopefully this will help alleviate the need to foul but we also need to be aware of charging players trying to draw the foul.
I do believe this is a great fix for future fouls that would help players focus more on good playing practice rather than game play. If we do incorporate the rules we need to make sure all players on our teams are aware of the change. This will probably be a good change prior to playoffs.
Please let me know what you think at this Saturday’s game.
Take Care,
Benjamin

Coaches,
Week 3 results are posted at https://www.iclsports.org/basketball/.
Also we needed to make some changes to the schedule due to courts conflicts. Check out the updated schedule at the bottom of this page https://www.iclsports.org/basketball/.
Remember the your final team rosters are in and complete. I have highlighted the forms so that no additional players can be added to the team. If your players name is not on the list he cannot play.
The forms will be attached with the scorebook. City Life, you still have 2 players that need signatures, Nick Sommers and Eddy Cecil. Please ensure they sign before the game.
I will be away for the next 2 Saturdays games but Keith Wiggs from CCC #2 will be responsible while I am gone. The scoreboard, clock, basketballs, scorebook, and dust mop will be in the closet for the refs prior to the games. Please put the items back in the cardboard box (except for the dust mop 🙂 after the 9 AM game.
Also make sure you right down the scores in the scorebook so that I can update the results when I get back.
We did have a bloody nose last week, thankfully it wasn’t a major injury. If anyone has any ice packs or first-aid kit you can donate for the rest of the season that would be great. Just leave it with the rest of the equipment and thank you in advance.
Thank you all for a great season so far and great ref’s as well.
Take Care,
Benjamin Hill
